Fast-paced chess variants that test your reflexes and quick thinking!
Rapid chess gives you more time to think than blitz, but still keeps the game exciting and fast-paced. It's perfect for developing both strategy and quick decision-making skills.
Each player gets 15-60 minutes for the entire game, usually with a small increment (extra seconds) per move.
You must record moves until you have less than 5 minutes. Press the clock with the same hand that moves pieces.
Great for practice games when you want more time than blitz but don't have hours for classical chess.
Blitz chess is all about quick reactions and instinct. With just minutes for the entire game, you'll need to trust your intuition and spot tactics fast!
Typically 3+2 (3 minutes with 2 second increment) or 5+0. Bullet is even faster at 1+0 or 2+1.
No need to record moves. "Flag fall" determines the winner if no mate or resignation occurs.
Perfect for quick games and practicing pattern recognition. Helps improve board vision under pressure.
Bullet chess is the fastest form of chess - lightning quick moves with almost no time to think! It's exciting but requires excellent mouse skills and pattern recognition.
Usually 1+0 (1 minute total, no increment) or 2+1. Some play hyper-bullet at 30 seconds!
Pre-moving (moving before opponent responds) is common. Internet connection speed matters!
For fun and developing quick reflexes. Not recommended for serious improvement - too fast for learning!
