A progressive learning journey designed for young minds
Children are introduced to each chess piece through fun characters and stories. The king becomes a wise grandfather, the queen a powerful mother, and the pawns their playful children. We use colorful, oversized pieces and interactive games to help children recognize and name each piece.
Through imaginative games, children learn how each piece moves. The knight goes "hop, hop, sideways" like a playful horse, while bishops slide diagonally like ice skaters. We use floor mats, movement games, and simple puzzles to reinforce these concepts without overwhelming young learners.
Original stories set in Chessland teach basic rules and strategies. Children help characters solve chess-related problems, like helping a pawn reach the other side to become a queen, or protecting the king from the "sneaky bishop." These narratives make abstract concepts concrete and memorable.
Special chess mini-games with simplified rules allow children to experience the joy of playing while focusing on specific skills. "Pawn races," "Capture the flag," and "King of the hill" are some favorites that teach fundamental concepts in an age-appropriate way.
Arts and crafts activities reinforce learning. Children make their own chess pieces from clay, color chess-themed worksheets, and even act out piece movements in costume. These multi-sensory experiences deepen understanding and make learning joyful.
Hear from families who've seen their children blossom through our program
My 5-year-old couldn't stop talking about the chess stories after each class. Now he plays with his dad and explains the moves! The way they teach is magical for young kids.
I was skeptical about chess for preschoolers, but the games and activities are perfectly designed. My daughter's concentration and problem-solving skills have improved noticeably.
The teachers have incredible patience and creativity. My son who usually struggles to sit still is completely engaged for the entire class. We're so grateful for this program!
